MITI: Malaysia's halal exports soar to RM54b in 2023, govt boosts support for MSMEs

The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has reported a significant rise in Malaysia's halal exports, reaching RM54 billion in 2023. This growth underscores the pivotal role of the halal industry in Malaysia's economic development, with projections suggesting the global halal market could reach RM23.56 trillion by 2030.Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) involved in halal production.

Initiatives like the Jelajah Halal Malaysia programme has successfully enabled over 1,800 MSMEs to expand their market presence and increase exports.The programme facilitates business opportunities and provides MSMEs with essential knowledge on halal certification, Islamic banking, and takaful products. It aims to bolster Malaysia's position as a global hub for halal products and services, promoting economic growth and creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
