MIDF's Development Finance Division (DFD) organised a virtual business matching event in collaboration with SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp) from 9 until 12 August 2022. The event, hosted on SME Corp’s MatchMe virtual platform was held with the objective to support the growth of SMEs and facilitate SMEs’ participation in the retailer supply chain.
10 anchor companies participated in the 4-day event which was estimated to have reached RM6 million in potential sales. The participating anchor companies included retailers Segi Fresh, Lulu Hypermarket, AEON Co., Petronas Mesra, logistics provider -Ninja Van, wholesaler platform - Dropee, e-commerce platforms - Avana and MyGalore as well as KSGZ and SD Impex Japan Co. Ltd. KSGZ provides SMEs the services, support, and roadmap to explore the Halal business opportunities to access, test, and market their products into Hong Kong and China, respectively while SD Impex Japan does the same for the Japanese market.
This event is one of the many programmes planned by DFD this year which are all aimed at providing existing and potential clients with updates on the various financing assistance and schemes currently available via MIDF to encourage the growth and further development of SMEs in the country.
